As an Actor & Artist, my sensibility to the theater and visual arts, my attention to architecture and design, my connection to music and spirituality have all been a visceral and impulsive journey.
Hey Good People, it's 2011 and I'm so fortunate to have you experience my Official website! Welcome Home.
Take off your shoes, pour yourself a glass of wine, hit your playlist and let's chill...
Some of you may know my work from either a television show you've seen me in or come to check me out on a stage somewhere. Or you've been to one of the art shows I've curated either in Los Angeles or New York. And if none of those
are true and you've stumbled upon me, just know there are no accidents!
I'm originally from South Central, Los Angeles, Cali, the product of what I affectionately call an "upper, Lower class" family. I was raised by a single Mother along my big brother, Bryan. From there it was off to Berkeley for college and eventually Rutgers University for my Master of Fine Arts degree.
Along this path, I've worked for $5 a week watering my neighbor's lawns, I disaster-relief services at the American Red Cross, taught in public schools & colleges, worked at 4 different bookstores and held 8 different clothing & retail jobs...all with hopes of someday being "discovered" in Hollywood. Or New York. Or somewhere!
My big break came just two weeks shy of graduating from Rutgers. I landed my first contract role on Guiding Light, where I would eventually wear down my co-star Victoria Platt into marrying me! My next major role would come on the Showtime series Soul Food where I had the pleasure of working with some dynamic people. Since then, I've been a gypsy more or less. It's still been about the hustle, the game, the business...from Los Angeles to New York, from the big screen to the stage. And learning to appreciate life and remaining humble, yet hungry, along the way.
This year has been amazing! I was a series regular on the Lifetime drama series The Protector, playing
Detective Ramon 'Romeo' Rush opposite Ally Walker, Miguel Ferrer and my girl, Tisha Campbell-Martin! In addition, I did some exciting work on the CBS hit-drama NCIS and shot a pilot for the "pilot-whisperer", notoriously awesome director, David Nutter. I've added producer to my cache of work, as I am currently a Producer on the film H4, a modern take on
Henry IV, starring Harry Lennix, Angus MacFadyen, Heavy D and Michael Dorn, as well as serving as Executing Producer on Broken Roads, a heart-felt drama starring Academy Award nominee Sally Kirkland.
But I'm not done...trust...there's more to come...
So check me out on the site here and let me know your thoughts. I'd love to hear from you. Ask. Believe. Receive.
